This MC is a tool. He keeps spouting shit on being efficient, yet wakes up at noon. One time, he wants to be quick and efficient in doing things so he doesn't want help from his clumsy little sister, and next thing you know he wants to take it easy and move at his own pace, so he sleeps in till noon.

@Emanresu a wise man once told me that laziness is the key to efficiency and getting crap done. The sooner and faster you can get the "work" out of the way, the sooner you can get back to being a lazy shmuck. That said, he is definitely still a bit of an antisocial jerk.

@Hollow7F Crack theory, that's the ACTUAL step sister and Himari is actually a stranger, a la Maou Testament.

@Emanresu What does waking up at noon have with efficiency? All he wanted to do during a vacation was play games, sleep until rested and spend the least time on everything else.

I sleep from 08 till 16 because my usual work shift is 17-01 and I have problems with getting out of bed if I don't have anything important to do so going to sleep around 8 is more efficient than 2 because I just can't make myself get up and going at 10. Or 11. Or 12. I'll just turn around and sleep till 16 anyway because I don't have anything to do but laze around and work. What I want to say is that efficiency is really, really relative term.

@icarushector Nothing wrong with being antisocial jerk. :]

@GroundDead Of course what I said about sleeping doesn't apply to anyone working night shifts, and I agree it is a very relative term. But what I don't like is that this fictional guy just conveniently throws the word around to fit his situation. See, if he really wants things done efficiently, he would opt to invest some time in teaching his highly enthusiastic sister do some basic house chores and not completely try to cut her out. Not taking care of your body with a proper diet is not efficient either, as it can make one susceptible to diseases, which may make a person lose time trying to recover (basic risk management). And keeping a big refrigerator running with just water inside is extremely wasteful. Division of labor is always more efficient in most cases.

Wanting to avoid bothersome things is not always equal to efficiency. Sometimes, you have to go out of your comfort zone if you really want things done quick. In this case, he's just a loner wanting to be left alone, and not exactly someone who strives for efficiency, which he claims.

@Emanresu Agree completely with that about diet and risk management, as someone who has issues with lack of iron in blood because of my way of life.
Apparently, I need more vitamin C for better iron absorption from food. Was never an issue before because I didn't spend as much resources as I do now. Who would've thought. :D

I do wish as well that writers paid more attention and thought to what setting they set and kept it consistant but we get what we get, I guess. Hyouka did cover "efficiency" better though it had issues on its own in that regard. But better nonetheless.

P.S. Sorry if my previous comment sounded like lashing out or anything of a sort. Had talked with people "IRL" that had only "bad", for the lack of better word, things to say about waking up after 9-10, depending on the individual and when they wake up so I got flashbacks. I don't consider my way of life healthy (I do have proofs that it isn't, one mentioned above) or efficient but their "hurr durr how are you going to be done with anything if you wake that late up, you should be like me and wake up early" attitude did and does piss me off. Sorry again.

@GroundZero Hey, no worries. I didn't find your original comment bad or anything, so no need to apologize. But yea it wasn't my intention to demean people that have a different sleep pattern.

I don't understand why its embarrassing to be fed by a girl, nor do I not understand why anime characters freak out when they share an 'indirect kiss.' sharing a drink is literally something humans have been doing for thousands of years and now its romanticized...
