yeah that makes sense i was really confused on the ending on how her making walnut food would be beneficial to her but this links to it completely.

feels like a really lovely example of like. you don't really need to have a pleasant personality to be a kind person, and worth knowing. You can be cranky and difficult and still treat other people well; be valued by other people.

I love this chapter, it felt themed around life after people have exited your life. Granny is gone, but he can still remember her through her recipes and share her with those who never met her. Hideki may have gone back to Yamagata, but new friends are still waiting to enter Hiroto's life in unexpected ways. We remember those we loved, and life goes on!
