Thanks for the quick translations. And thanks for picking it up in the first place. I luckily only found out about it coincidentally like a week before you picked it up so I didn't have to wait very long, but it was tough week hoping it would get picked up.

As far as the ending goes, I'm glad I ended the way it did. I was expecting some hypocritical shit to be honest, but it was nice that minato extended his hand to Akiba until the end, and even Shibuya said that it would be nice if he changed.
Akiba of course has no interest in changing even until the end so I guess this is an okay outcome.
Still though, yeah this was an edgy manga, but no one ever actually died. His death feels a little disproportionate, to think even the game admins who set up everything didn't get any kind of retribution or anything, they just had to go away. Shibuya parents who also didn't change didn't get anything at all either, and they were the ones that really caused Shibuyas problems, she herself said that Akiba merely triggered something that would have happened eventually.
I kinda wish he were incapacitated from harming them or anyone else some other way... But I guess him dying is part of the shock.

So the psycho who enjoyed torturing girls and treating men like pigs gets a happy ending and the kid who basically used girls as slaves gets a happy ending but the guy who was the sole reason they won half their games gets killed because it’s just impossible for him to get friends that actually try to help him through his quite obvious psychological problems(but the others get “redemptions” ofc). Y’know since blondie only ever cares when the girls are treated like shit but it’s ok for the Bitch to beat the shit out of Akiba. Seems like half the story wouldn’t have even happened if Miss Heroine didn’t just forget about the guy who saved her for a week. (when they’re literally in the same class lol) To say he can’t change when no one ever actually has a heart to heart with him past “hey bro you were wrong and bad first” is incredibly disappointing. 4/10

Great translation tho! (Please do/help with his other works if you can)
The main point is redeemable. Towards the end, Adachi softened up, she's learned how to keep her sadism in check. Same with the slave running brat. They all left behind their psycho self and started anew. Was that enough to forgive them? Maybe not. But at the very least, that should be for their victims to decide. Shibuya seemed to have completely forgiven Adachi and the slave driver brat. The slave might be preoccupied with something else at the moment, but idk if she has forgiven the slave driver brat yet.

But this is not the same to Akiba. He has done nothing to redeem himself. He is beyond help. If he wasn't stabbed, he would have grown desperate and done something even worse that wat he had done.

I would really, really, really love it if Akiba had realized the mess he was in at the end, and worked towards trying to reconnect to the real world. But alas, he couldn't, a real shame, really.

Thanks a lot for the quick translations! You guys are real heroes, you know that? And pretty high quality ones, too!

Damn... Hard to believe it's over. I was hoping for something a bit more... gritty for Akiba, but honestly, this fits him. He doesn't end with a bang but a whimper like the DOG he is.
Real glad the other leader person didn't stab him though. Would've been too heartbreaking to see her fully break - thank the fates her friends found her first.
STILL THOUGH, PROPS TO THE EX-SLAVES FOR DOING A QUICK JOB OF HIM. DAMN.
Akiba probably wouldn't have been able to change in time anyways! I kind of feel sorry for him since he doesn't really understand anything at all and is a moron, but nonetheless, he deserved what he got. His actions were definitely evil.
Also Siscon best boy. Goddamn, that lad is a real one.

I appreciate the insane effort that went into TLing this work but why not put it into a manga that has a rating above 5 stars and isn't terrible 😭

Regardless, it will be strange not seeing a million uploads every few days. I hope you'll continue scanlating and thank you for your work!

Akiba's death was unexpected, but appreciated. He made too many enemies for everyone to forgive him so it was nice to see that natural end play out. May he slowly bleed to death alone in the streets.

So happy to have this series TL'd - tysm! I love Chida Daisuke's works so the more that's TL'd the better!

Genuinely 10/10. While it doesn't have quite the same personal impact for me as Ijousha no Ai, the writing was definitely much improved. And the translation quality did everything justice!

Thanks for putting so much effort into translating the series. Hopefully the score will get bumped up to around a 6-7 now.

Here at the end a lot of people are missing that Akiba is an actual sociopath (incapable of relating with or empathising with other living things.) The author gave him every possible out, and then showed what they think sociopaths deserve.

The other characters fall along a spectrum of psycopathy (turning off, lacking, or ignoring empathy,) and are largely sorry for what they did. The only characters to act psychotically in the real world after leaving the game are the ex-slaves who stab Akiba. They disregard empathy in the face of needing justice or revenge, as all executioners do.

I mean imo it would have had great reviews if people didn't rate it 1 star after not liking akiba in the first chapter. And ayy I appreciate the kind words man thank you!

I mean he does hold shibuya by the waist for one panel this chapter so it's heavily implied, *edit FUCK I THINK HE WAS JUST HOLDING THE UMBRELLA INSTEAD!!!!!! if it makes things any better, the way he refers to her in japanese is VERRYYY CLOSE and it's been that way for a while.
Yeah it looked like just the umbrella. But she also called him by his first name so I'll take that as a positive sign as well.

Shouldn't the ex-slaves want to kill the little brother instead? Akiba barely did a thing to them but little brother probly had fun time or something with the "ritual" he did to them.
Well my guess would be that it's also a loooot harder to kill him since he has people around him, unlike mr.bozo I mean akibo

Little brother was bad, but he also was willing to apologize and take whatever beatings they wanted to give him in revenge. Akiba on the other hand straight up left them to die with negative amounts of remorse.
  • He had them burn every possible bridge with the people that were helping them.
  • They're in A~ tier which means they now have to battle the top players on their own.
  • They probably lack the actual skill to hang in A~ tier because their entire playstyle until a couple of weeks ago was based around not actually being skilled and being fed berserk potions instead.
  • Mothercon went with Akiba and company into the SS tier raid, which means they may have had to spend the time during the fallout after the betrayal fighting people 2 v 3 and would have been stuck that way without Shibuya ending the game.
  • Akiba was monologing and part of that reveals they are traitors to a random group that could easily spread word to screw them socially in whatever impromptou game community exists during a time they desperately needed a 3rd pair for their group or help. They're also now associated with a sadistic little shit who spent 3 days straight torturing a person for funsies.
  • Akiba went out his way to kill them during the betrayal when he could have easily just disabled or lied to them instead of getting them closer to permadeath.
  • Akiba doubled down with a dose of smarm/smug after he did all of that despite them being the ones to save his ass.
  • They had time to cool down with mothercon. Akiba's betrayal is still raw.
  • Mothercon was a dick, but at least he roughly kept them alive if only to keep having meat shields. Akiba didn't even hold up that side of the bargain.
  • Consider Akiba's talk about how people can keep going so long as they have hope. Mothercon left them with hope of survival. Akiba didn't. Once the heat of the moment (and siscon protection ) ends they can easily realize have nothing to lose by getting revenge. He didn't even remember to keep blackmail to keep them at bay.
  • There were only two of them out of four. One pair may have actually died due to not having enough lives.
  • We don't know if there were any widespread announcements about the deathgames ending. They could be paranoid that they're still going to die in the next match and are getting the comfort of knowing he's being taken down first.
  • Everyone in the game is messed up to begin with. Giving them a specific target to lash out their mental issues at was probably not a bright idea.
Some of this stuff is just theorycrafting since we don't know how much worse things got for them, but Akiba does not do shit halfway when it comes to giving people reasons to hate/kill him.

Shibuya's wish was clear. Not more death games in the galaxy. And can't remember exactly If Mothercon did or not took their innocenses as part of the rituals, that should be something to remember forever rather than the betrayer who isn't gonna help them get revenge. And with how the people is, they should be forgiven for attempting to revenge with Akiba's help since they were betrayed. No one of them should've died since the Siscon would had spread the lives and the raid at the time, the only one on risk of dying was the Pig Tamer.
Not like Akiba didn't had it comming but it should have been Shibuya the one doing it instead, and she was stopped from doing so which means the one who had "more right" to kill him left it be.

  • If they were going to kill mothercon, they would have done it already and he gives them ample opportunities to vent without retaliation. Like it or not, they got their revenge on mothercon enough to somewhat satisfy themselves already. Their position on Adachi beating Akiba into submission should have informed you that they still had limits or reservations about going too far. If Akiba ended up pushing them far enough to kill then they'd go for the person who pushed them that far over the person who didn't make them desperate enough to kill.
  • They saw him torture Adachi for 3 days straight ingame. He even brought a fucking pillow to powernap during torture reset cooldowns. That's enough to establish him as worse and/or become the #1 target.
  • The death game ending in this chapter does not negate the possibility of them having to participate in a match between then and the SS rank games.
  • Akiba killed one pair out of the two when they were becoming traitors, which means one of them is possibly down a life depending on how the rules work as I already pointed out.
  • Akiba's offer included helping to carry them, which means it's reasonable to think they had at least one mandatory match between the betrayal and the SS rank fights that they had expected Akiba to help with. A mandatory match in which one pair might have been hit with permadeath.
  • We have no visual confirmation of the life distribution as far as I know and that's assuming Mothercon had a 3 stock while the rest had 1. They could have had an uneven amount of lives to make things lopsided or the gear grinding being done for them just so happened to give one pair an extra heart the others didn't get.
  • The death game ending does not mean they were TOLD the death game is ending for everyone. It also has no bearing on the time between their betrayal and the SS fights. They could also have not noticed the items are missing but that's a stretch.
  • Needing a third to survive also opens them up to the same exploitation they just escaped from.
  • Again. Mothercon left them hope to cling to even if it was barely any. Akiba left them to await die after systematically removing any hope they could have clung to.
