Wait Terrible Company isn't terrible?
What is this, some kind of subversion of our expectations?
I don't think they're not terrible tbh, they're just not explicitly evil, they're probably just merchants who follow the money, and right now Haruka's a profitable bet with the upswing he's been on. A clean+proper company doesn't strongarm themselves into a meeting with someone by feeding information to an opposing party to have them invade the territory of the person they wanna meet.
I think the last panel shows that Haruka already suspects they're up to something, either:
- He thinks the information they're about to feed him is either a lie or intentionally misleading, probably to manipulate him into doing what's good for them (as they did with the invaders). Since they've been presented as supposedly smart and would know what he actually wants to hear, he's specifying what he wants because he thinks they don't have his intentions in mind
- or "the info you're about to provide" is actually referring to the info he believes they're going to turn around + sell/provide to others (potentially the church invaders) regarding this meeting, and not what they're about to tell him now, to further manipulate the church nation like they already have. Suspecting them of playing both sides isn't too out there since he knows they're in contact with the church nation anyway.
