If it does work, we better not see any like, earth shattering big magics in the future, or else it wont make any sense that "explosion magic" can't get humanity ANYWHERE near this dragon, yet regular explosions can kill it no problem?

but i do give props, that the author did the research on knowing what would be needed to maximize a gas type explosion, and knowing to add shrapnel to make it actually do damage

I mean as she said, it's not the explosion she's expecting to kill it, but the lack of oxygen caused by causing a large fire in an enclosed space. It doesn't matter how durable you are, there isn't a carnivore on earth that can survive carbon monoxide poisoning for long periods of time.

It's really simple. Is it a good guy in this world. The answer no it's an obstacle. Then what's the best way to get rid of said obstacles to blow it to smithereens. Dragons typically land near the monster territory in terms of friendliness.
Also I'm pretty sure you're in the wrong section dragon fanatic there's a lot of stories elsewhere.

1. If you want an evil dragon, then make it a good villain. Make it powerful, long-lasting and being interesting as a character. I need a villain dragon like Deathwing or Tiamat, not this!
2. Wanna me tell you what happened with some good dragons like Volcanica from.Re:Zero or with a demigod dragon from Strange Invasion?
Authors HATE dragons. For no reason.
Dragons deserve justice, not death
