Here we are able to see how (relatively) law-abiding and safe Japan is.

After all, when Saeki Maho is told by Fiona that “selling one would net you enough money to build your own castle”, her immediate conclusion is “if we sell it, we can be NEETs for life” (not “we should never tell anyone that the bag is magical, otherwise we could be killed very quickly because of it” as if that bag were the King's Ankus of the eponymous short story in the Second Jungle Book by Kipling).

Likewise, when Fiona is visibly upset over the disagreement about whether the bag should be sold, then demonstrates a fake smile, Saeki Maho can say “…but didn't you say you wanted money, Fiona?” but does not really think (even for a moment) that Fiona might be tempted to kill her in her sleep (and greatly ashamed by that temptation) if Fiona for some reason (unknown to us yet) really needed a lot of money — and thus all the money, not just her own half.

(After all, we don't know Fiona's backstory. All we know that she was willing to risk her own life in the dungeon and almost lost it.)

The minic is in the bag :wtf:
That would actually be a pretty fucked up D&D scenario. You find a chest and confirm that there are no traps on it and that it's not a mimic. Inside the chest is a full set of armor, some jewelry, and a bag. Most players would think that the bag inside a chest with other treasures in it is a bag of holding, but the bag is actually a mimic, and all of the other treasures in the chest is stuff that it regurgitated.

The bag is somewhat convenient, but frankly the store is BETTER than any mansion or castle they could buy once they figure out how to get some sort of personal teleportation in/out of the dungeon. The thing basically cleans/restocks itself so you don’t even need a full staff of maids to keep it maintained.

But, who doesn't want a full staff of maids?

Her reaction seems to specifically comes from tele monuments, what could it be...
Yeah, this seems to fit with the theory that was floated by earlier that you can only teleport to a monument you've activated before, so if they find one, Fiona will be able to leave, but Maho will be stuck. Fiona might be planning on ditching Maho the first chance she gets, but feels guilty about it, and that's why she offers the bag to Maho ("you're gonna need the magical item more than I will" type thing?)

Idk, not sure how confident I am in the theory, but it seems to fit somewhat still...

Or the armor is the mimic, and you only realize after putting it on

Thanks for the chapter!

I feel like Fiona doesn't quite want to return to the surface.

Was it really not possible to build a contraption to open the chest from afar? That would have also allowed fragile items to survive.
