Gil letting his concern for Myne overtake his reasoning for a while not realizing he was also being unfair to those around him while evaluating their loyalty from a narrow perspective. Having the older retainer keep everyone level-headed while they voiced their complaints and criticisms of how the situation was being handled was nice to see.

Honestly, I love the added detail that he himself was a blue priest. It reallyhelps explain why he was so mad at Myne. She was a commoner who was placed at the same rank he once held. Of course he’d be pissed about that.

I think that detail was mentioned in his mother's appearance, that she was happy he had "returned to noble life".

The issue i have is that Gil is still correct. Too many of Mynes retainers will listen to and trust Ferdinand over her in literally most areas. Shes extremely young, weak, and abnormal for them to listen to her all the time but such authority/trust doesnt fade with time. There may be exceptions as time goes on but most of the time it feels less like Rozemynes retainers are less her own retainers and more like they are Ferdinands retainers that he assigned to take care of her. its fine now that hes supporting and teaching her things but its a dangerous trust

Probably though I just meant that decision for the character. He could’ve just been a prejudiced ass (and he kinda was) but he instead had a background that helped explain why He felt and acted the way he did
