It’s interesting how milk will help with the Devouring? And with how immense Dirk’s power is and how the temple needs more power, shouldn’t it be a good thing? They don’t need to be dependent to Myne and can just don’t tell anyone that there is someone other than Myne that will give a mana?

I dont remember if its touched on in the manga (id assume so at least) but Delia is very envious of Myne having a family she can come back to while she has no one due to being an orphan. Myne making Delia the big sister of Dirk was a very intentional move.

on one hand i agree on the other the manga is covering some parts of the LN that the anime sorta skipped over (personally i just like seeing the comparisons of how she has developed

Delia has sever abandonment issues so she quickly imprints on those close to her.

Dirk and Delia are close in the japanese katakana dirks name "ディルク" and Delias "デリア" share the same first letter you can't really go 1 to 1 with the names so while it's not written simmilarly the "Di" part of dirks name and "De" from Delias do phonetically sound the same as "duh"

when it comes to the devouring you have to remember that it's mana and it flares up when you get emotional (as we saw with Myne and her books and during her rescue of Fran and Rosina) a child will get emotional when they are really hungry as babys can't really regulate their emotions. that's how the milk helps because he's no longer hungry he's not emotional.

the ammount of Dirks power will prob be discussed in the next chapter when Ferdinand measures him. As for the temple thing there's a problem with tradition. Only Blue priests being allowed to dedicate mana cuz of tradition (that's why Myne was even afforded blue robes in the first place) but a Blue robed priest also has to employ gray robes... how exactly is he supposed to do that at 1 or 2 years old. Also while it may seem that Myne is actually really well of she's really not. while it wasn't covered in the manga it was in the anime during the events of chapter 39 Myne actually approaches Benno to start selling books because she doesn't have the funds for winter prep for everyone.

It was officially explained somewhere that it could happen to Myne as well in the worst case. She happens to have the mind of an adult and the imagination of a reincarnated person so she could use it to visualize the compression of her mana and be able to keep it at bay.

Myne actually did used to experience the same (according to Effa) when she was younger. the reason she doesn't anymore is 2 fold . 1st she regularly dedicates mana to the religious tools meaning her mana capacity isn't at it's limit most of the time and thus can't overflow (which causes the hives) 2nd her adult mind that while still very emotional is also much more stable in being able to control her emotions so while mana might flare up (more then for most regular nobles) she has the empty capacity and emotional control needed to control it.(really the only time that they could have shown up is in the first time chapters in s1 when she was making clay tablets)

Gotta love how shaken Myne is by the revelation that this child will suffer and possibly die from the same thing she has.

Im sure it was pretty similar to how Benno felt when he realized she had the same thing that killed his wife, though I can’t remember if we saw that realization

Love this series, just wish it wasn't so slow that have to re-read between it's monthly installments.

But it's a good story and worth the wait. So keep up the good work!
