@xpsox Yeah, I know about the manga for par 2 (this one), part 3, and part 4 which just started. But part 3 and that 1st chapter of part 4 are not translated. Also, the part 3 manga is already way behind the light novels.
To be honest, if people are interested in the story, they should really read the light novels. There are a ton of details that are cut from the anime and manga, the world is really incredibly well built, so it is a really nice read.

@Liquidxlax No, it is not "almost over" at all ! In japan, the last chapter for the Part 2 manga hasn't yet reached the end of the anime season 2, which itself is only at about half of the total part 2. As for the manga for Part 3, about 20% of the arc has been covered by the manga yet in japan.

@Bluedudu Yeah it's not. It's just that the world Myne is in, they're used to detailed drawings rather than simplified drawings that simply capture the "essence" of the picture. Myne is more cartoony, and not very detailed or artist like in their terms.

One semi-serious mess-up by the (Japanese) artist: in the Bookworm world, the "dogeza" does not exist. In fact, on the few occasions when Myne does this, nobody has a clue what she is doing. They're like "What are you doing, Myne?"

@rpapo Actually, dogeza does exist. It is the form of thanking you do for the gods (check chapter 31 of part 1 if you don't remember). First the Glico pose, then you switch to a dogeza. The orphans and priests were educated in the temple, so they gave their thanks to their teachers in the same way they would have thanked the gods, hence the dogeza.
But normal people never use it, except during their baptism / coming of age ceremony.

Myne's drawing wasn't that bad though. Then I saw Wilma's drawing and I was like ''man they certainly got the right person for the job''.

Well uh... if one is to compare Myne's drawing to Wilma's er... one may think it was drawn in, I dunno, cubism style?

@IlsaTilsaKilsaMilsa Even in the LNs, Myne's artistic skill isn't bad. It's just a running joke that nobody (from this world) likes it.
She couldn't have bad skills seeing that she creates the Panda Bus after all.

@RonBWL Thank you guys, great work as always. It's a shame that you don't have the time to speed up and bring to us the 12 raw chapters available in the net. Even with all you effort we are a year behind japan.

I wonder how many year is going to take to be able to read the entire story. At least 3 more year for this part (part 2) to be fully translated (there are probably about two years left to finish publishing it in japan), about 4 or 5 more years for the part 3 to finish, even more for part 4 which hasn't started yet. Just hope it doesn't get haxed by publisher or dropped by scanlation groups.

@kyto1984, I agree. But I think It’s a matter of taste and/or familiarity in this period of time. Her Art is probs considered good if it was draw as realistic and idealistically. So the author perhaps intentionally or unintentionally demonstrated what “art” is considered “good” in this time period and world.

Also, thanks TOOR scans!

@neutraluser They live in a world where only the very wealthy people can afford to do drawings. I mean, given the price of pens and parchments, no one can let children play at drawing things. Send them to the forest to gather wood instead!
So the only ones doing drawings are the real artists, who live from their talent by being hired by rich merchants and nobles. It's like in the Renaissance, where a painter had to get patrons to live, and even talented guys had trouble living from their craft. So of course, when all the arts you know of is only from the extremely talented people who make a living from it, the kind of high-school-level art of Myne will feel like garbage. It's like comparing the drawing of a high-school girl and the drawings of Da Vinci or Michelangelo...
