It’s more like she works for an overall goal but always encounters roadblocks along the way (witnessing the state of the orphans, the new baby, etc.)

If you order the right tools from the blacksmith and use the right woods for the template carving them becomes simple, and it will have a longer printing lifespan than paper, and better accuracy too. It is possible you just gotta train a craftsman and they will do it well. Just look at block books pretty please.
