yeah... she worded that wrong.
Context matters, guy. Just because something happens doesn't mean it's the solution for every situation. You're talking as if destroying buildings and bridges before they actually fail don't happen in real life. Your analogy actually supports what the guy said.
She will won't be killed. Myne saves her life by sentencing her to a lifetime of being in the place she hates and fears the most, the orphanage, as her punishment. Meaning she can never be an attendant, bought/sold, or have a higher standing than an orphan. She survived through the conditions and trauma of starvation and hopelessness from the lack of Gods' Grace from before Myne improved the conditions and fears returning to that more than anything else. Which to her was a punishment worse than death.
And even the "betrayal" isn't even a betrayal of Myne. She's literally too ignorant to understand the consequences of what her choice would result in. She doesn't know that her actions would result in the baby she's begun to love, to literally be less than a human slave. She assumes that he'll go into a situation similar to her own, that of some sort of servant. Based on the Anime's depiction, she wasn't even expecting for Myne to be a target. The true tragedy of Delia, is that she was too ignorant to understand the kindness of others.
There was never a written contract between Myne and the temple, not even a non-magic contract. It was all negotiations done through talking. If there had been a magic contract, they would not be able to go against it. They would be forced to first cancel the contract, which would require the approval from every single person who signed it.Not being separeted from her family was aprt of the contract for her to work in the church, that they get to break said contract (which was a magic contract BTW) and suffer no consequence still bothers me.
"This bridge might fall so I'll just jump into the ravine first!"
EDIT: oh, better yet "I'll cut the rope myself, see? I knew it was gonna snap!"
It's a stretch but Myne is different, is she not? She's not a born noble, nor does she act like a noble. To just cut your losses now and do something tantamount to betrayal is jumping the gun by a lot.She has seen recent experience of this as well. The music-loving blue priest abandoned the girl who is teaching Myne instruments when she left for greener pastures.
Did you ever read any historical document or old story? It's obvious that you didn't."This bridge might fall so I'll just jump into the ravine first!"

So, up to current release on that site, it's $223.68 to read these book as they sell each part of the volume for $7, and each volume has many parts.official LN site for the english translation here

Also, as Ferdinand explains in the LN, they never expected Myne to have THAT MUCH mana. It is to the point where she poses a threat if she fails to control it, so they can't allow her to not learn how to control it.
That's not part of a volume. Those are separate volumes. The story itself is split into 5 arcs, which they name Parts. The website also splits volumes into parts because they release the volume weekly in pieces, but when you buy it the file you get for the released book is the entire volume. I understand why this may be confusing at a glance, but the series is 33 volumes at $7.99 each. So, up to current release on that site, it's $223.68 to read these book as they sell each part of the volume for $7, and each volume has many parts.
Haha, no. No, I don't think so. It's $7.99 if you get it from Amazon for Kindle, so it's $255.68. For five volumes. That's insanity.

Do you know what life young girl like her have without any support? Either she find a master to protect her for the rest of her life, in this case Myne never denied that she will abandon her when she grow up and leave the place, or she find a man with enouth money to live a half decent life.
These are the two best prospect she have for her future... Either wroking as a servant or being a mistress...
If she cant find any of these her next best prospect will be to become a prostitute.
Do you even understand what choice she have to make at her age?
Here we can easily see how boys and girls act (even if they're kids) - Gil thinks logical and straightforward, he brings up his plead to Myne and get her personal assurance. Delia on the other hand, thinks emotional and short-sighted, choosing the temple head as the chance of getting thrown out by Myne is enough to convince her to jump ship, even if she can prolong her good life while playing both side. She doesn't even consider talking to Myne, already thinking it's futile, further convincing her to just stick to the temple head. The problem is that she is a moron, and even considering only her immediate self interest she is STILL choosing the worst prospective.
On one hand she can stick with Mine and MAYBE in the future she will have to look for another patron; in the meantime, she is treated better than anyone else in her same position had a right to ask (in this particular world) and she would be learning useful skills to find a new sponsor.
Or she can betray the only person in the world that treated her well, and STILL lose her job when Mine leaves, since her usefulness is directly tied to her ability to spy on her; only now she is known as the untrustworthy wench that will betray you for a shill. Good luck finding a new employment...

He just took notes of the meeting (on wood, not parchment). No one signed anything, so it's not a contract. And obviously not a magical contract as the person I was responding to claimed. It's not a contract, but he did wrote down the conditions they wanted:

For a contract, nobles would conjure their wand, transform it into a stylus, channel mana into it while signing a contract, and effectively have the same result. So I think, with the right control of mana, she should be able to activate the stone without using her blood. And our girl is also a repeat offender when it comes to overloading feystone, though it’s not known yet at the current time of the story.
there is no president that a contract can't be written on wood (especially for non magic contracts) the only president that there is that contracts can't be done using plant paper. Also magic contracts can be kinda flimsy and not entirely great unless a lot of rules are specified and as the discussion Benno was having was about the plant paper i don't think it would discuss anything about the other forms that can be used (remember that Myne used wood to form official contracts back when first developing paper in the form of order forms (those are a type of contract). also there are many points in the story where the flimsiness of magic contracts is shownHe just took notes of the meeting (on wood, not parchment). About your spoiler:Also no noble and especially Ferdinand would use only a verbal agreement only on a child of such potential exploit and contributions that is mynethere's 2 that immediately come to mind. 1st happens in part 4 and that's the magic contract between Sylvester and countess Dahldolf (shikzas mother) where she's forbiden from having anything to do with her yet in part 4 she can still even interact with items registered with Mynes mana. 2nd comes in the form of a discussion in part 5 at the 3rd year interduchy tournament. Where the contract was non-enforacble because it was written on plant paper even if one was thinking that they were signing a contract and a magical contract at that
As you have seen with the carriage, god of darkness magic can absorb magic. In a scenario where a noble kidnaps her, they will of course seal her magic so use of blood is saferBut in this case Myne can use magic, so why she still need to use her blood for the magic tool that Sylvester give her?
