The way the anime adapted this thought-reading tool was disgusting.
The priest essentially drugged Myne without her knowledge, put the tiara on her and started reading her mind without any of her guidance. The entirety of the first two seasons is Ferdinand reading all of her private thoughts, yet when Myne wakes up she is perfectly fine with that.

Here we see the whole ordeal was consensual and Myne was in control of what she showed. She made the decision of her own volition and sought it to be the best option at her hand at the time.

The anime adaptation was terrible, not only for how they mishandled the tiara, but also for making Myne behave like an actual 6 years old girl instead of the young adult that just happens to be ignorant of the culture around her that she actually is.

Myne might say it's difficult to explain, but it's actually really easy. She could just say the lightbulb works by the power of lightning passing through metal and leave it at that.
It would take years to develop the concept of a lightbulb from that, even with her "I read it in a book" knowledge cheat. Just the processing involved.

Running an electrical current through a bulb filled with an inert gas to use the electrical resistance of a filament to heat up and produce light without melting. Getting a steady flow of power would be something too, using lightning magic itself would cause it all to explode or melt. Maybe start with something like a lemon battery? Might be better to start with an alternator / motor development, though a chemical battery would be required at some point.

There has got to be an isekei story somewhere, where they explain in detail such things, instead of the constant handwaving. This one is pretty good when it comes to book production and techniques, which is the part I enjoy the most.

Carbon arc lamp would be much easier to develop, you need just two carbon rods to be nearly touch each other and source of electricity.

He did with a welding rig, but you can do this a car battery, even a electric drill battery. It's very loud, has a short lifespan and gives you sunburn though. You can use it as a make shift blow torch if you position the rods right, which this guy also made as well.

Surely in a magical society where ppl can fly (esp head priest), sm1 has to have tried flying to the moon?

The whole country is basically inside a bubble (barrier) with each domain basically being a smaller bubble inside of it, so there's only so high you can go.

in that case, they might as well use a candle instead then LMAO
or it would be just a novelty item for nobility :dogkek:

yes but not to the degree you'd think, since they don't even understand flight they will not appreciate the scale of how much harder going to the moon is
This is true. Even in our modern world, most people can't understand the scale of going to the moon. Most people think the moon is really close and the only barrier is the vacuum of space. But it's actually very, very far!

Well, if Ferdinand tried to dig out from Myne-Urano's memory something like the last war of Japan, I'd be a bit concerned about her well-being.
And kind of interesting, will history of our world get some coverage in the story or not?

Carbon arc lamps are bright as fuuuuuck, and still last longer than candles, about 72 hours. They would work for factories allowing them to have a night shift or as street lamps, which would reduce crime. For the sunburn, UVB rays (the ones that cause sunburn), can be blocked by simple glass, only blocks about 25% of UVA (the one that causes skin cancer, but is painless).

I thank you ever so much.

Lol, that wont work.

Lightning would be under authority of some god, he would just question why it would go through the metal as magic power doesnt go through metal like that

Nope, even if we ignore the lower oxygen levels as you go up or how cold it would get. It is impossible because:

Kings barrier blocks the entire country. And since king doesnt have the original bible he cant open or close it. There is one open entrance, and it is not in their dutchy but the 1 dutchy he hates most, where archdukes grandmother is from. Also Fernand is technically indirectly from there too but it isnt a pleasant memory either

what about metals with the lightning element? (or whatever its called, i forgot)
wait, does that even exist? Do materials having an element only apply with organic materials???

All things have elements, we see that when they do dyes with rocks where color mixing gives different colors due to their magic affinity. And i would imagine lightning doesnt go the path of least resistance but based on some bible story affinity.

Like god of lightning seeks the goddess of water only to be placated by the goddesss of earth (not real, just example)

Though they must be living to turn into fey stones.

One thing they do mention though is fey stones are rare outside the country so these special rules may only be the case where they live.

Myne wanting to read books in the dream when the knowledge of the contents within said books is already in her memories.
It makes more sense when you know that the magic tool also allows perfect recall. In the LN version of The World of Dreams, she was able take books she had read once and see the exact contents even though she had forgotten most of the contents.

Just picked up the series and am loving it, but i am wondering if i should just bite the proverbial bullet and read the part 3 adaptation now, or if part 2 is almost over and i should just wait for that.
Them publishing 3 parts simultaneously is extremely annoying but i do understand they dont want this to take 200 years to produce
