She's never addressed it but because of how friendly people are with her and how respected she is he suspects that she was lying. His reasoning is that someone awful enough to do something like that would never receive this treatment.

Just because someone is perceived as good outside, doesn't mean they're actually good, if you think about people not parading around telling people what bad things they might have done 😐

So in the end the story conveniently settled on mc just justifying the plot by simply telling himself she lied, i see 😐

In fairness it’s, too date, the ONLY fucked up thing she’d have ever done like that. Honestly when there’s one massive, comically so, outlier like that it’s easier to assume that the incident is fabricated.

You could also say, if one person were to be capable of doing something so fucked up, what's stopping them from having done more, which you aren't aware of when you look at it from mcs perspective (If he were to actually think about it what he never really did)

The difference is bro’s been living AS her for months at this point, if there were signs that those were her true colors, he’d have seen some by now. Instead all he sees is that she’s prone to self-sacrifice and putting others before herself. The initial lie was so comically absurd to begin with that it strained belief, so the only real logical conclusion at this point is that it must be false.

It's honestly the thing I find most annoying about her. Everyone is just constantly on about how amazing, kind, and beautiful she is. It wouldn't hurt to have one character mildly dislike her.
