They are not juniors in high school here. They are middle schoolers. They haven't dated yet. Iirc they went to different highschools? (might be wrong on that one)
oh, thanks, I sometimes mix up these terms. Also went and reread the chapter, an interesting point skipped my conscious and you are right, this is when they weren't dating yet... Sunao is worried in his classroom someone will "swoop in and take Lemon in the meantime", so it's that in middle school they began to drift apart, then started dating? yeah I should have read more carefully the first time around.
