This, and "the seggs" chapter are honestly some of the greatest chapters in romcom history.

EDIT: both chapters have this understated and intimate quality to them, that is often lacking in romcoms. This very personal view of the characters gives the story weight and realness, that is so often missing in many romcoms. Case in point: in many a series the tsundere is an overplayed trope, to the point of being annoying, but here Hori feels like a real person, not just a character archetype.

Tip-toeing?
...is this boy autistic? I know that's a common behavior with autistic individuals (including myself).

I'm convinced. Hori-san is on par with mai, ichinose, chitoge, and kaguya in my waifu list
You mean Mai as in Sakuta's girlfriend, not Zuko's girlfriend, I assume. I liked watching that series and its movies, and the fact their relationship was ongoing during all the problems. And I need to check out Classroom of the Elite at some point, it was kinda on my radar at some point, but then I started reading manga for anime I had watched in the past couple months.

Glad to see another Chitoge appreciator. I paid close attention to her during that story, because I could tell she was the focus. I could see her character development, unlike all the other girls who seemed pretty static (except Tsugumi and Haru who weren't even in the running as supports for other characters- their arc conclusions were predictable but no less impactful). They were already in or close to their 'ideal state', so to speak. Chitoge had the most growth to look forward to, so the most interesting to see develop and grow closer to Raku.

I wouldn't go so far as to call her 'waifu', but I don't tend to use those sorts of labels myself. I guess I can appreciate the sentiment, though, I suppose?

But yeah, Hori is a pretty interesting character, herself. I liked this dive into the title couple's perspectives on each other.

@Buywards YES SOMEONE GETS IT tsundere for the win
I appreciate the tsundere, but mainly because they offer some great character growth if they're the focus, since the couple have to more or less go from a state of (at least overtly) hating each other, to at least not disliking each other, to liking each other, and then realizing they're actually madly in love. The depth of character growth implied is pretty strong, and the fact their feelings force them to go through such an arduous progression makes it seem all the more intense and strong.

Some of the other '-dere' types, like kuudere, do offer some decent character growth opportunities, as well, though, and I won't knock it if a story wants to go that way.

Hori is annoyingly cute and I love it. This manga does really good job in making unperfect characters so adorable.
