You probably won't bleed quite that noticeably from those piercings, if anyone was wondering. It could vary a bit person to person and due to other circumstances, like having alcohol in your system. I wouldn't recommend doing it the way Miyamura did, though. If you absolutely insist on doing it yourself at home with something like a safety pin, clean everything. Everything. Thoroughly. Your hands, the piercing location, the pin/whatever, the general area you're doing this in even. Clean it like you mean it, and follow basic after care instructions you can look up for different piercing types. Even a professionally done piercing can get an infection somewhere between getting it and having it for a while, and you will not enjoy the experience, so cover all your bases.

I honestly don't get how manga authors think they can get away with these extremely stupid "I get bullied cause of my slightly different appearance even though I look completely normal and handsome" tropes. He legit looks like a completely normal person, and even handsome at that. He looks like someone who would be popular, not outcasted. Wtf does "dark" even mean, the only thing dark about him is his black hair (which literally almost all other characters have) and that maybe he's introverted. It's seriously so stupid, and so many manga authors do this. In most though, they actually make them have a slightly weird face to make it understandable. Out of these kinds of manga that I've read, there was only one where the guy's face was actually really weird with a scary smile LOL and that was the only one where I believed he was actually treated as an outcast from his appearance.

Especially with your hair covering your face, and guys having long hair, also added the fact that he's quiet and not really taking the effort to initiate social interactions, people would see that he has a dark aura surrounding him, thus calling him dark. And of course, when one person says it, it spreads like a wildfire so that's how you easily become ostracized.
