Im wondering about the Page where she is cheering Umika on. Surely it's meant as some character growth where she doesn't have to rely on other means to understand Umika?
At the same time the panel made her seem almost lonely? Maybe I need to re-read earlier chapters...

Yu has been quite pensive since the '' your foreheadpathy is only for me'' chapter and she's still sorting her emotions out.

Here's how I read this page: ever since chapter 42, Yu has been afraid of upsetting Umika, so she doesn't want to share her negative feelings, fears, or anxieties with her. This has caused her to emotionally distance herself from Umika. Chapter 42 is the peak of Yu's openness.

I do wonder if Yu has truly forgotten everything about her previous life; it's definitely implied that there are things that she's keeping hidden, consciously or not. She's definitely worried about scaring or upsetting Umika and it's clear they have a very special bond by this point, so it's easy to see why she would be cautious/nervous around her.

Judging by chapter 42, Yu still has some memories of her past life lingering in her mind, but they're very fragmented, hazy, and unpleasant. As a result, she subconsciously represses them.
