My interpretation on that opening colour page is that the author throw Hoshino against the wall (the wall being Kobayakawa) and then, the wall broke and flowers started to bloom.

as someone who suffers from car sickness a lot, I can relate the barfing part. every trip for me is like torture. I felt better when I had an operation with only local anesthesia.

Once one person vomits in front of others it can spiral out of control pretty fast. Some part of our brain is wired to puke when others puke. Ancient ass survival mechanism or something, because if one of you started getting sick from something you ate it was probably best for everyone to get it back up.
