Its not a genre in itself, but I find these moderately cliche, but still organic and sincere manga some of the most enjoyable. https://mangadex.org/title/fbe1d7d2-f4b5-415a-9cb7-b4e9c819e8b8/kyou-mo-veranda-de is my other wonderful example. I think, for me, it stems from true SOL typically being less "compelling" than more "active" or "dramatic" scenarios, but then again maybe it's the skill of writing SOL in a compelling fashion I find appealing. either way, the use of cliches here is charming rather than tiresome or tedious.
