We tend to generally call them "sand flea" or "sea louse" but that is both over-generalizing (as that can apply to basically the entire family of Talitridae, let alone the nine thousand species of the Order Amphipoda) and applies traits that not all species necessarily share, as there are almost 30 different species of them.

You can ignore the last sentence in that opening paragraph of the wiki, though: yes, Talitridae amphipods CAN and DO bite humans. They are physically capable of it and there are millions upon millions of recorded cases. It's a common pest to humans at marine locations.
