So I’m kind of bitter about this because every day I read this novel, two chapters a day for free, for a few months now. I look forward to it every day, I’m like 1000 chapters deep, and you guys are shitting on someone who makes my life better for free. I don’t care whether they used MTL, it’s good enough that it doesn’t affect my enjoyment and nobody else is translating the novel. I’d donate if I could. But you guys are dragging this on endlessly. We had like 20 chapters of the manga up, and now we have 1, and maybe in another 20 weeks when Kora gets around to it we’ll be back where we started. Like, you wrote a full on essay over the course of several weeks with screenshots and everything, stalked their old blog and apparent new accounts, and supposedly found out he’s some Indonesian boy. This isn’t proportional in any way.
You can consider this my personal vendetta.
I also read a lot of his web novel translation and was really enjoying it, but as a detail-oriented person, I could see the problems. I saw potential in his MTL, which is of much higher quality than most, so I tried to help him. I even offered to proofread for him. But he vehemently denied using MTL and straw manned me.
He even cited how some of his friends quit due to this type of "false accusation", implying I was doing the same to him, painting me as the bad guy.
Can you see how one could be at least a little bit annoyed at that?
I made a final comment for him, detailing my grievances and making it as easy as possible for him to respond and clear my allegations (I was still giving him the benefit of the doubt at that point). But he completely ignored it, so I gathered that I was right and left it at that.
But then Anon gave me clear evidence of him using MTL, so I decided to go all out. He still had a chance to respond and be honest, but you've seen what his choice was.
You called him a boy, but he's supposedly a university graduate, so it's probably a lost cause to expect him to fix his behaviour if he's this old and still acting like a child.
PS. It didn't really take me weeks to write that "essay", as you called it (it's more of an exposé). Just one afternoon. And then I just spent a couple of minutes each day before sleep to check for changes and post something if necessary. It's really not that hard or time-consuming. In fact, most of the information was provided by Anon, which is why I decided to call them "Anon", since the message I got really felt like an instance of weaponized autism.
