The summary really does not do this one justice. No, it's not the most original concept or plot, but the execution and character work is excellent. Sure you might have already seen an OP protag at a magic school who is hiding his true abilities, but you might not have seen an supporting cast whose names you can actually remember, meaningful and logical interactions with adults and other authority figures, and an MC who is reluctant to speak about his past trauma because of the guilt he is still wrestling with. A diamond in the ruff for this type of story (or I could just have read way to many REALLY shitty isekai)
