Well, I was hoping this would get resolved in the last chapter or this but yeah. Reading some spoilers up, I'm out man... I hate this fucking garbage trope.

Only one week seems to be weird pacing to "melt her heart" unless there's some sort of unruly shenanigans happening.

I assume the marriage goes through or Gray manages to become a knight in a week (I think in the Novel they said knighthood is the only noble rank that can be obtained without inheritance)

You know what? Tired of this trope already, so how about you let him win her and actually marry her and the servant dude marries some actual maid that is more fitting of his stature, and we have a unique story for once. Because this story is a dime a dozen, nothing unique about it.

Thats only on the WN btw, the LN on the other hand, have no combat or battles at all (reason why the WN is subtitled as "battle version"), so you won't get that here lol, the plot is alot different in LN, not to mention in the WN at this point, the mc is already attending school, with enough battles on him, which is not the case here in the manga, neither in the LN (mentioned in a previous reply too, while this here is like halfway in the WN too, in the LN this deal with the fiance is still on the 1st volume, out of 3 so far)

So keep your expecations very low if you read that spoiler or the WN
Oh nice. This is probably the first series where I've heard that the LN and WN being wildly different.

Is there any reason why the author decided to do two different versions?

He's way too suspicious in every single regard, so my bet is that
this is a red herring, he's actually nice as fuck and he will fail at capturing Alicia's heart, graciously letting her go in the end
Hey, the last time I called someone a Red Herring for being too obviously evil (the Teacher in Erased). I was wrong and the author was just that obvious about who the villain was

Manga readers when nobles do what nobles have always done:

I just wonder where the author is going with it. Once he let the "You have no chance, you commoner cuck"-genie out of the bottle there really isn't a way go get rid of it again. No matter how "good" of a partner the MC is, she simply cannot be together with him, unless she either surrenders her titles and nobility or he pulls some OP skills out of his ass to earn at least some reputation.

This reminds me of another manga where a princess was falling in love with a noble thief (like the one that steal the rich to feed the poor).

Then, this shady fiance rival character showed up. My, everyone reading was calling him names and stuff… Turn out, he genuinely loved FL and eventually gave up on her so she can be with MC… He unexpectedly turned from red flag to bro.

I don't know why you guys lashing out. So far story didn't show any "isekaique" points so its a played straight medieval world. Mc has no status, no powers and no future. Father and the backstabber bitch maid is just doing what is normal. She can refuse this guy but she will have to bend the knee eventually and MC has absolutely no right or power to stop it. (in a more realistic situation, he would be, at the very least, kicked out if not killed on the spot after getting in between them to the point of gripping the guest's hand forcefully)

Least favorite trope, I have dropped beloved series over it and I WILL do it again, if this drags on for more than 5 chapters I'm out

Author doesn't give much of a reason in the LN other than wanting to focus and develop more the romance between the leads, without much interruptions of other characters, given that mc harem kept expanding and cockblocking them, like is not just that part of the main plot that is different, like the LN even removed and added some characters, for example mc sister and the butler Maya were added in the LN, with the sister being important later (one of the first things in the WN for example, the one that interview and give him the job, is the fmc father instead, because Maya doesn't exist lol)
