... Took me a while to recognise classic misunderstanding comedy.

I like that instead of the usual browbeating and "you're useless" from instructors and others in most series, the instructors of this guy actually seem to highly respect him and his effort.

Thanks for the update!

He has no common sense
He parried his common sense.

Also, anyone else like that goblins seem to be taken seriously in this story? They require a high ranking adventurer to accompany a party to go kill goblins, implying that they're not dismissed or treated as a joke. Which makes sense, as, though stupid, they are far above the intelligence of a normal monster. A stupid, weak person is still always far more dangerous than something that is stupid and incapable of thinking outside of biting and flailing.

I'm not sure I understand what his misunderstanding is. He was clearly told that the monster he killed, that he acknowledges that he defeated, was something an s-rank party would be needed for.
Yet he still acts like he has no skills and no ability, despite this - if his dream was to be an adventurer, he should be leveraging that win to become an actual adventurer.

Add on to this that the series is pitched as being about a guy with only one skill, but he actually has starting skills from all the warrior types, and has apparently max leveled them - so how does anyone, including he himself, not release his ability?
It's just kind of breaking the believability of the story so far.
