Heh...you really have an overactive imagination. 😆I reallyreally want to be too cynical about this, but I'm worried there's one or two more nasty twists yet to come (like when dudebro who exploited her before turned back up). Please let me be wrong that there's a dark undertone to brother's "I'm the one who should be thanking you" (e.g. naking a good scapegoat for mom to be mad at), or that mom will announce she wanted her back for a political marriage and Sayu has to fight for herself and reveal her trauma to prove she's "damaged goods" who won't be accepted for that purpose, whereupon mom is nothing but nasty and horrible.
As I said, I hope so.Heh...you really have an overactive imagination. 😆
To be fair Meguro is not "traumatized". She just doesn't understand. So instead of being scared and afraid, and forced to do things she doesn't want to do, she was more like, doing things becuz she doesn't understand what is the proper way to do it.In my opinion, I think this story treats the topic of underage sexual exploitation far better than "It's Not Meguro-san's First Time".
A person who suffered through this horrifying scenario does not just act like nothing happened years later. That shit scars you for life.
Here we see how truly ugly and hurtful such a trauma would actually be like, and the characters react like REAL PEOPLE to this situation.
Unlike in Meguro-san where I swear the author has no idea what trauma is and how people react to it.
As an elder brother myself, I think her brother is even worse than her mother, frankly. The bro is truly a bro.
It was never especially great, but it's also been in a downwards spiral for quite a while now. Take a look at the full-page panel of Yoshida and Sayu gazing at the stars in chapter 54 (page 34).Is it just me or the art quality has truly fallen off in this chapter, as if the author is fully aware of the end and doesn't care anymore?
