I have an idea what could happen next, but I don't like it and really want to be wrong:

So now Vio hides all her feelings and endurs everything. If nobody tried to approach her, then she will be fine (at least mentally stable).
But now:
1) She endurs interactions with sister while trying not offend her even a little bit, but father still hurts her every time.
2) She has only this two trusted people (Yulan and maid Marin) by her side and only one of them has "equal" society position. And she doesn't want to bother them, so she doesn't share her problems with anyone.
3) Prince started to approach hetlr, but she fears him after first try

I can see only a pretty dark future with her mental breakdown and death/bedridden state/asylium

Also what I catch from web novel MTL:

Vio admitted, that she loves Yulan, but hides her feelings and run away.
Unfortunately she had reasons by her expierence: her insane mother, that hurt her and husband; her first try with prince
So she fears that her love will be twisted and insane like her mother and she hurts Yulan and lost him.

I don't even get what the prince is hoping for here, though maybe his assistant is more of the driving force. He's realized himself that she has no interest in him, so now he wants to insert himself into her life and drive away her friends?

@esp I believe the term used to describe this effect is “keep them keen treat them mean.”
From my studies these methods can have mixed results depending on the levels of intensity.

@JWChibi I think MaryJun is aware of it now. She's trying little things like getting closer to Violette and she tried to praise Violette in front of her father. I think eventually she's going to confront him about it.

Next chapter will likely be Violette trying to push the prince and MaryJun toward each other, but the prince is set on Violette now.

OK, is it just me or is everyone except Yulan being straight up rude?

Who just barges into other people's study groups and asks to be tutored?

And the prince is pulling a Harvey Weinstein here, literally told her that if they didn't all move from their study spot to his secluded studying couch they'd be disrespecting the crown.

Idc what will happen next but I still don't want to see Vio marries the Prince. Idc if the Prince changes his attitude or heart but please, author, please don't let Vio end up with him! I would rather see her as a nun than see her marry to the Prince!

@unknownids i dont so much hate all of the characters, i think maryjun and vio could be fleshed out a little more and yulan is kind of relegated to permanent secondary male lead (despite having the potential to be so much more!) i just... i really dislike the father and the prince so much. while i wont act like vio wasnt in the wrong for what she did, but her father and the prince are just special types of annoying that i think really hinders any sort of progress that can be made by any of the "main" characters.

Having read the LN, I don't know what to feel on these changes. The manga is making me like them and wanting vio and maryjun to be friends but the LN... AAAAAAAAAA why'd they have to change the genre to comedy

It looks like the prince is definitely gonna lose? He has such a sketchy wingman and Yulan's being Vio's foil so that gives his bonus points. Unless this turns out like Abandoned Empress there's no way Yulan's gonna lose
