Mayby my taste is shit but honestly I have nothing against these cliches. I already recocnized with 14 that there only this much ideas. And same like in MMORPGs the customers want something they are used to and experimenting with finding the one next big thing that you did not knew that you wanted it is hard and riskfull. My main concern with Isekai is, if the characters are written bland or awesome. Example "In another world with my Smartphone" whas in the end not so good because the Characters felt bland. While Deathmarch rapsody to another world whas awesome because it depicted good the feelings and characters. Though I would find an isekai awesome, where the characters are really get powers from faith and like in The Dark Eye priests are just the managers of the gods and depending on how good one brought the interests of the good forward, the more and better powers he got loned by his good next time.

@Koronus That's right, it's not like the isekai 'genre' is bad in itself. But the execution of many are so bland and uninteresting.
Death march is actually pretty fun if you don't want to use too much of your braincells and i enjoyed the LN quite a bit.
Overlord is amazing imo.
But there are some different LN/WN that are literally the exact same story. And that is what kinda irks me about the genre, not the genre itself. The uninspired things they put in their stories is what makes many isekai stories just trash. They sometimes copy a story and change 1 thing and that is the gimmick of their story, then call it a day.
There are many really good or at least pretty fun isekai stories buried underneath a pile of bad or mediocre stories that pollute the industry.
Good thing is at least the best of them get an anime, manga and an english release, so you know which ones aren't completely dog shit

@hugninja so "In another world with my smartphone is upper medium?" Cause I found it is a one hit wonder where you can have some laughs but it is soon forgotten because it is nothing really moving. The master of Ragnarök and the blessing of einherjar would actually be a better story from my point of view, if the protagonist would not be a total siscon. I broke up the anime because during the bathroom scene my Fremdschämen got to strong. I really pitied the girls. From my point there is nothing wrong focussing on only one or two girls but that they try to hard to woe someone, that want an incestous relationship only, whas to much for me to continue watching despite the rather good execution of the rest.
