The plot plan is p decent but the resolution feels very shit. I still sympathize more with the villain more than the protagonists. While I do understand why everything is unfolding this way, including them refusing to kill archduke, I still hope that the archduke finds a way to end his life on his own terms or get anything on his terms. It’s very callous and cruel for them to treat him like his father did, not taking into account his wishes (although the protagonists doing this is justified as opposed to his father doing what he did). Maybe if this ending wasn’t so rushed and was fleshed out a bit more, it wouldn’t feel as bad, but it really just feels like they’re brushing over all that happened to him.

Reasonable crashout tbh, killing the crown prince would be fair
reasonable crashout, yes.
killing the crown prince is fair, not so much.

the villain here is the late king. the current king share the blame too for giving the poisoned tea
(because cmon. a royalty who just believe in everything while living in a political hell?).
crown prince didn't do anything.

but again, reasonable crashout.

And here comes the villain assumptions, based on not understanding good people.

I kind of disagree. While I can understand sympathy for him, he went too far. He's the callous and cruel one. Well, obviously not the only callous and cruel one, considering what happened in the past.

But yeah, it does feel rather rushed, especially compared to how complex all relations are, what happened, and the plan he had. Those things need more space to develop, but I feel it was just flashback-revealed and then solved without digging too deep into it.

I feel really bad for him, though. What's wrong with his dad? Killing him is better than what his dad did to him, or at least just disown him if you had no intention of letting him be happy. He shouldn't have taken revenge on innocent people, but what his dad had done is really, really bad.

Justified crash out tbh. His plan was to publicly reveal everything and the populace would have agreed with him and caused a revolution.
Only problem is that he's invoking sins of the father.
The prince is innocent in this at the very least. Not sure what the current king has done at all to make things right besides saying sorry. He even hid the truth about the tea leaves until the previous king died. What a dick.

no way that miscarriage was an accident. what a hypocrite of a crown prince. no atonement either, of course the bereaved would start a vendetta afterwards.

Is where a missing chapter? Like, how king even ended up here.
Not missing, probably just done off-panel. We know last chap that Violet was investigating where they were so she could magic herself there, and at the start of this chapter we see the portal she took there with the king+co. It just means she went to pick up the royal family before portaling there.

It's not Sins of the Father, it's a Fridging moment there.

He didn't want the prince dead for the crime of king/late king.
He want the prince dead to make the king suffer for his involvement in handing over the tea.

That said, from ch 15 raw
Violet believe that the uncle got tricked, because listening to his story she finds a lot of questionable points.

While the king might be foolish enough hand over poisoned tea without realizing, her mom wasn't someone so foolish to not notice that.
And her mom wouldn't resort to killing for something like succession right either.
Even more so with such a flimsy plan where if uncle's wife ever told him 'I got this from father-in-law' the plan would go out the window.

So Violet believe the late king DID NOT send that tea with intention of trying to kill uncle's baby.
In term of overall reputation, he was known to be a kind king.
So him learning about the pregnancy and wanting to send a gift would fit with his reputation.
But he could've choose something else besides tea leaves.
So why did he choose it?

And uncle said he learned 'the truth' at the late king's funeral.
How, and from who, did he learn of it?

Also from ch 15:
Claude use Proposal.
Sophia is too dense and think it's just a fake one to 'help' her refuse all these recent proposal from randoms.
Violet be cackling at Claude's suffering.
(yeah, she's oblivious about her own value)

I definitely feel like I'd have understood his anger and need for revenge more if they'd hinted at the situation with his wife before this.

Though I still struggle to picture wanting to murder your own little sister BC of something she didn't do, to kick start this entire plan.

Especially with the sheer amount of people he treated as disposable this entire time.

Roaring rampages of revenge motivations coming up against a very carefully laid out plan at the expense of many lives, really saps away at the villain feeling sympathetic.

Thanks for updating! It's nice seeing Violet and Sophia standing side by side. You can also see how polar opposite their personalities are. Complement each other very well!
