Edit: I am kind of amused at everyone being mad at getting the prince's backstory when, well, Brigitte asked for it.

It is funny that we're getting the reveal that, like most evil people, he really is just some absolutely petty asshole and not the brilliant schemer that he believes himself to be.

Like, the boy actually had the contractor of a god on absolute lockdown - to the point he could demand self-harm and she'd fucking do it - and fumbled it out of jealousy.

So many other folks just keep bashing him,but this is the point right here.

His teacher,the rumours all around,even his own mother kept putting him down,and as much as his brothers console him,he doesn't feel like he'd ever be their equal in any regard.

Had her engagment actually went through with the villain,this prince would've probably kept feeling frustrated until someone figured a way for him,be it good or bad,so finally feel happier.

The sympathic part is that he had no one his age to be his equal,the part that corrupted him was stumbling into someone his age that was considered worse off and using them to make himself seem better,and now that part has entirely consumed him.

Arrogant family, good older sibling that protected him from “bullying”, deep bruised ego from that, and becoming a manipulative shit that like to break down people around him to feel better, often resolving into using his self pity, playing the victim to gain favor when he’s on the verge of losing it… ugh.

And then, going and doing tons of projecting.

Gosh I hate that prince… Looking at my father, and on how his projections on me made him propagate that cycle of harm, I know I could have turned like that Prince, and I always have the fear in the back of my mind that I am, and am just disillusioning myself and the others that I am not…
And gosh that make me hate him even more.

And gosh, this whole chapter is WAY too accurate.

Everytime these kind of mangas do these kind of chapters where they give their sad backstories of why they are evil.
It happens everytime when for example ''Well her parent are SUPER abusive towards her.... But they have a super sad reason!''

I'm like... Am I supposed to feel sorry or sympathetic for them?? If anything it makes me want to just skim through the chapters so that we FINALLY can get rid of these asshole characters that is clearly just here to fucking torture and abuse the FL...

Tbh, I can kinda see myself in the prince. Wouldn't act the way he did tho.

But just saying, even if his brothers are supportive of him, it doesn't change that they're viewed in a better light than him, making their words being taken lightly since they don't really get his perspective. I know, I'm projecting a bit, it just sucks.
