It's a very typical old trope but I really gotta appreciate inefficient villains who went to explain the perks of their super secret weapons before using them. Like. Yo. If I wanted to poison someone I'd feed it to them before ever saying anything about the poison they took, so that it should be too late for them to do anything. Thanks to that the protagonist always has time to figure something out tho so now I can just kick back and wait for the creep to get his comeuppance

I saw in a previous chapter that spirits will abandon their summoner if they commit a wicked deed. Apparently Brigitte's father lost his after he threw her into the fire. So if that's the case, then shouldn't the prince's spirit dip once he tries to pull this bullshit?
