Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation with them as a married couple focusing on their kid. Kinda like what they did with Takagi-san.

Hmm, it was an ok ending, if a bit...underwhelming, we don't know what will happen to them in the future...I mean they already seem to not be meeting all that often (or at least that's what I got from these last panels), so we have no clue if their relationship endured long or not.
But I guess the author wanted to leave it vague like that without committing in one way or the other.
