That's probably because this manga knows what its about and who to focus on. As much as I like Komi-san, the manga at this point is just spinning its wheels with delaying the inevitable outcome of this love triangle and having way too many superfluous side characters (a lot of which have characters dedicated to them) for its own good. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of these side characters, but as far as the majority of readers are concerned, they just want to read about Komi and Tadano first and foremost.
While this mange does have its share of side characters, it doesn't allow them to overtake the spotlight and push its leads into the background for a sizeable portion of the manga.
Both mangas are great, I just wish Komi had a little more focus (and an anime adaptation).
