Something that caught me off guard reading this:
Usually with stories involving psychopaths like Midou, their backstories will always have an explanation for why they turned out this way. Abusive parents, traumatic incident, etc.
But from what we've seen from her past prior to killing Fumika, she had a pretty average life. Both of her parents were nice people ( as far as we can see), she seemed to have a normal upbringing. Maybe a little shy in school but that's not an indicator for whether someone's a psycho or not. Midou had a perfectly normal life.
And yet, she still turned out like she did.
And that's even more frightening.
She wasn't molded to be a monster. There wasn't a person or thing that truly made her that way. She was just always one. And it took one small, unrequited puppy-dog crush to let the monster out.
