Yeah, standing on the counter, dropping a crapload of gold coins on the floor and shouting at the flabbergasted mob like a rabble rouser is a very effective way of not standing out.
And here I thought he was gonna solve everything by himself quickly. He actually had the idea to let these guys try and win with their own power, although it is clear they are outmatched and the odds are against them. Well, so much for that; and now it's his turn to solve things in a flash like he usually does.
A reasonable outcome would be that some would be angry at him for hiding his power and letting casualties mount before he acted if he's so easily capable of winning. But they also mocked him, so him saving them was in fact, close to a miracle happening. I'm guessing the point of this arc is to swing public opinion in his favor, but let's see how that goes.
