I was actually thinking of reading the novel... but now, with that, I'm not so sure...

I wish this could be one of those stories where MC just goes "fuck it" and leaves the kingdom and everyone behind and goes to another country where she's better appreciated and to have a better, happier life. Or destroy the kingdom. That would be so interesting. *sigh* Sadly, that's obviously not going to happen 😑

Yes, it honestly makes very little sense to treat Dark King contractors like that, but what can you do? People will be people.

If I recall correctly, people ostracized Japanese Americans during WWII because they were paranoid that they would act as spies and betray the country.

She's already turning things around bit by bit though, so good for her. I guess with an upbringing as bad as her old life, she'd have to be mentally tough.

I'm confused. The reason why they fear those blessed by dark spirits is a cautionary tale stating what one SHOULDN'T do to people?
They fear darkness because someone once almost destroyed the kingdom because everyone hated them, despite the fact that they overthrew a tyrant and put a better king on the throne, because they feared darkness.

It's odd, if I do say so myself.

I'm glad to see everyone else also shares the sentiment that the "Emergence" was brought about because people were being complete jerks to the guy that deserved all of the praise and glory. Like really, what part of that story sounds like the "MC" was the one in the wrong?
