Good old deduce the translation into the source language and then back to English in your head each and every sentence. Gets quickly quite taxing.
Also gotta love the nonstop "watermarks" and "support us for quality translations". Well "there is quality in quantity" or something.

-edit- looking at their uploads, they seem to have a penchant for dumping a few chapters on a series that hasn't been touched for a while and then either dropping it, or just not continuing to upload on MD. Claiming any sort of quality now is just an even bigger joke.

I absolutely agree with the trash translation, the TL even shameless enough to include a promote to their website, what a joke 🤣

I don't really care strongly whether its MTL or just poorly translated (I'm getting this for free; I'm not that entitled), but either way, the English is just poorly edited, flows poorly, at times nonsensical, and riddled with errors, which is something a great translation can't fix.

This group probably shouldn't say anything about quality work if they don't even have a proper handle of the target language.

Eh, unless I am missing something(like a re-upload with changes) the translation is not that bad, especially recent chapters.

Is it a great translation? Certainly not, it could be significantly better.

But it is "good enough" and does the job allowing a reader with basic comprehension to understand the story regardless of the lesser quality.


If you want to see some bad translating, go find RightDark or something(especially that groups initial uploads, that was terrible)


Of course, people will still complain about something completely free to them while sitting passively doing nothing themselves, when based on their complaints they should be able to do far better. Hell some TL groups(actual good to great ones) are so starved for help they probably would be willing to pick up this series if it meant a couple of people were willing to join and help a bit.(or cough up some dough and sponsor the series with a group specializing in picking up inactive series)


I can agree with the sentiment that sometimes translations can be so bad that it is better for it not to exist at all. But this is not that level.

the issue is the combination of poor quality and demands to read on their website. the lack of engagement also doesn't help

When the uploader instead says something like "yeah it's MTL and I'm not very good at this, but here you go", the comments are mostly positive

I am not going to complain about how bad the translation is because I have read worse before with no problem, bad translation is still better than no translation afterall.
Still the constant watermark and begging for money gets old quick (I just ignore each one anyway but it is still a pretty bad move if you are going to present such bad/lazy work, I have done better with MTL).

I can agree with the sentiment that sometimes translations can be so bad that it is better for it not to exist at all. But this is not that level.

Several speech bubbles are borderline gibberish, and there's zero coherency or consistency throughout. We can only understand the story progression because we have prior knowledge from earlier chapters, so we can fill in the blanks.

However, what you so clearly fail to grasp in your soapbox speech of "well it's free so shut the fuck up" is that if a reader has to spend considerable effort trying to piece together story and context, your translation has failed to do what it's intended. We can give passes to solo scanlators dumping MTL chapters because they're doing it quick, very very rarely for any profit, and most if not all the time they'll admit that the quality is going to be subpar as a result. What's being dumped here is a minimal effort release designed to draw eyes to their website to generate ad revenue; they aren't doing it for the readers or the series.

And yes, I can complain about these scanlations being poor quality, and yes I have worked with a scanlation team in the past. So do yourself a favor and stop trying to white-knight a group who, from their chapter release history, obviously isn't interested in keeping any of their series alive.
