Since there are these dream creatures, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these monsters come into existence because people think/dream of them.
Kind of like that philosophical theory that something only exists if it is observed.
So I wouldn't be surprised if these eldritch beings only appear, because people believe that they will appear.
Maybe that's why the entity that made a pact with the MC spreads it's influence through books, so it can eventually manifest completely in the real world.
