Is it too late to send in applications to the US with grades that are just below fail and a trauma dump essay. I mean I can't even leverage my extracurriculars because they're mid and at best just visionary plans. Like this would probably do better on reddit but testing water first. I'm so fucking tired and I can't help feel like I was responsible for my downfall and like I'm getting nowhere atp like I didn't't even complete my CSS profile, not even logged into college board. Tf am I doing and how can I still save it ???????????
PLS HELP AND YOU CAN TELL ME IM COOKED BUT JUST KNOW I WILL CRY AND MY BACK WILL HURT MORE
I just really want to get out my country and live by myself!!!!!
This kinda turned out to only tangentally be related, and I'm not really an expert (US citizen attending college in the US), but I did write out this whole thing, so- look, I don't know where you live, but you should look at state schools, especially in the West and Midwest of the US. Most of them have rolling admissions, which means that there's no deadlines, and they're usually test- and essay- optional. This won't get you out of any deadlines from entities within your own country, but it can take some of the stress off about not applying at the proper time. I got into a good college without having to even take the SATs or write an essay.
Also, trauma dumping on an essay is generally fine, but you should put in something about how you're still healing, and you hope that you can look back on this experience later with a different perspective or whatever- there's a really big push towards touchy-feely stuff in the US education system rn, so if you can show them that you know how to play that game, it can work in your favor.
Once again, I don't know what country you're in, but you can also look at US community college/transferring after an associates- a lot of community colleges don't have a citizenship requirement or need you to be in the country, and there are some that offer Gen Ed or associate's degrees entirely online these days. This might not be what you're going for, but it's an option. Also, any extracurriculars will help- generally, what a college wants is to see that you
can put time and commitment into something. Of course it'll help if it's something fancy, but literally anything will help.
Sorry for how long this got!
