Cus with the usual harem trophe, its the mc whos top/leader and the harem supports/follows them. But in this, it really more the harem is the top/leader position and out mc is their supporter. just some thoughts.

In the earliest parts of the story, definitely. But Keita has grown and is constantly being encouraged to grow even further (mostly by Ruri, but the others are getting better about it). His choices now have sway. He's taking more initiative than his first-doujin version could ever have imagined.

Is he still highly emotional? Sure. That's hardwired into him. Even so, is he strong enough now to confront his mom on his own (even if the girls hadn't tagged along) in a way he couldn't have with his brother the previous summer? Definitely.
