This. It's very obvious that Yuu is preparing to talk to Hikari and tell her things, just like he did with Haru in chapter 43. As I predicted before, Hikari, despite if was for a push from her mother, finally kept her promise to Yuu's mother and came to the Takamura House. This is the moment Setsuna arrives at Haruki's apartment after he had sex with Kazusa that dark night in March 2008, and where Haruki confessed his infidelity. This should be the moment on the train to Narita Airport.
That, and the fact that it would be incredibly stupid, even for Yuu, to try to hide from Hikari the things he already told Haru three chapters ago, knowing that Haru could tell her at any moment —and it seems that for now Haru hasn't told Hikari, hoping Yuu will be the one to do it.
That said, those who think Yuu is going to defend Yami are mistaken. Hikari will probably be the first to do it; we already had a foreshadowing with Haru's attempt in chapter 43, where she seemed to side more with Yami than with Yuu himself.
Then, in chapter 44, Hikari also showed concern for Yami and said that someone had to help her go back to school and so on, even though she still didn't want to look at her face and felt relieved that Yami had dropped out of school again, saving herself from another painful confrontation.
Anyway, Mangadex, as always, blaming Yuu for everything. Never change.

My two cents: i would also like hikari to apologize a bit. I know its easy to overlook her flaws when yuu is right there but I would like to atleast have her aknowledge them.

I mean, Yuu is the more innocent of the two and has done fewer bad things. It's just that, due to gender roles, Hikari is usually the one who gets away with it more easily. But Hikari undoubtedly owes Yuu an apology.
She was much more reckless than him and had many more red flags about who Yami really was—even if some of those red flags existed thanks to Yuu himself, it's easier to suspect someone who actually had sex in love hotels illegally.
So yes, it's quite obvious that if Hikari hadn't become friends with Yami, none of this would have happened, and everything would have occurred at the cultural festival as she and Yuu had expected—hence why she initially thought "Yami-senpai" was a different person than "Aya-chan" when she froze in the doorway like an idiot.

Very complicated absolve somebody who already assumed all the blame to herself. IMO Yami seems even dissapointed by the fact she is not even the homewrecker cat here (that girl is Hikari). At least both Kazusa Touma in WA2 and Ai Kamiya in Shikimori were really the homewrecker cats who wanted to commit adultery.
Yami the fool girl is bad even being the female villain from the tale.
Maruto taked the right choice making Hikari her rival instead somebody more morally ambiguous like Setsuna Ogiso, Chiaki Izumi, Miyako Shikimori or even Utaha Kasumigaoka, and making Yuu a holy man compared with both Haruki and Tomoya Aki (Saekano), if not we couldn´t even blame Yami for nothing.

Fluff shounen romcom slop addicts crying in comments will never NOT be funny.

I mean, even in shounen romcoms we should have to be much more customed to these weak male MCs like Yuu Izumi and Kyo Ichikawa basically expecting the girl takes the lead for them, precisely in part due to the precedents established by White Album 2 a decade and a half ago.
All this rants sounds very similar to all the people who hated Shikimori is not just a cutie when its anime was released in 2022.

Yami said Hikari was now the girlfriend of Yuu, so, other thing Yami brainwashed the readers to think like her when she is obviously wrong.
For the interested ones to know where is Yami, I found the Comiket winter chapter who was going to be the chapter 45 -and was discarded because it was too explicit for X/Twitter-, a friend and me translated it into Spanish and I just uploaded it to Mangadex. It´s basically Yami jerking off remembering her "heavenly days" with Yuu after dedicate some pages to her remorses about Hikari. Enjoy it.

Going back to what we were saying about Gender Roles... yet another mysandric person who completely forgot what was clarified about Yuu and his supposed "indecisive inaction" in the novel version of chapters 43 and 44, which is where he returned the favor to Hikari and where Hikari promised Yuu's mother that she would soon be visiting the Takamura House.

At this point in the story, it's quite clear that Yuu would much rather have this than a perpetually virginal and perpetually resentful Hikari, like already happened with Eriri from Saekano, and that his anguish in middle school would have been less if he had seen Hikari dating someone else.
In any case, if there's an NTR that could hurt him, it's precisely Yami's. And I think Yuu won't like finding out that these past few nights they've almost raped Yami several times while she's consumed by her madness.

The funny thing is that this is probably what caused Hikari to finally fall in love with him at the end of their first year (November-December), and what made Yuu decide at the end of omake 4 to give up on Hikari and Yami once and for all and move on.
This, and the fact that just like Hikari (Kuroda) from School Days, our Hikari (Shirasawa) got interested in Yuu, is because she somehow realized he got a girlfriend, gained sex-affective experience, but he became "free" again after that girlfriend ended up with him, and left him traumatized and heartbroken

The novel translation was not posted in the chapter threads anyway, so I am taking the liberty to judge the work that I am actually reading, which is the manga, which is where Yuu sits still on his ass and does not do anything.
