GEGE WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU

Jokes aside, I'd say this twist was poorly done and purely for shock value and probably also to get eyes on the project. I can at least say it worked as that's how I found this, though the other sentiment still stands. It's rough.

If this had been foreshadowed more, like having Hikari give a monologue about trust in the beginning and tell the chapters leading up to this in flashback, and if the twist came much sooner in the story, like in chapter 3 as one of the translated tweets suggested, then this twist totally could have worked.

I see some people are really liking the drama. I am not going to say that they are wrong for that. But for me, its way too hard of a tone shift too late into the story. I'm dropping for now. Maybe I'll come back later and re-read knowing what I'm getting myself into. For now this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

If the author does an arc from the ML's POV and it resolves there or has a short resolution after then this would be telling the story as each party sees it. I think the entire idea was to limit the reader to the current arc character's POV, and if you're going to do that then you have to have the "happy" arc before any arcs that would taint it.

Aight, that's unexpected, i felt bamboozled but i should know because there is tag genre right there which spelled d r a m a, i should've known yeah. Though, there is no seinen tag, oh shit tragedy. Noted, wouldn't be never read any tragedy, seinen, drama tag. I got ptsd and my day ruined, and it's still 5am here. Ugh. Really. I need wholesome copium content rn, im gonna watch non non biyori.
seinen is a manga magazine target demographic, not a genre

Before I knew it, my former boyfriend had become the crush of my best friend
..."Former boyfriend" Just twisting the knife after that stab with the sudden kiss. Although Hikari herself doesn't know it yet.

Aya talking about her dad having a mistress really turned out to be Chekhov's gun like I feared. It's not exactly 1:1 similarity because no marriage or even cheating is involved, but the nuclear devastation of the heart that's been inflicted on Hikari would probably be similar to when Ayami's mother found out her husband had a mistress.

It's called BSS. No matter the sexes, this scenario of pure jealousy (and anti-romance if supporting one side) will always elicit negative reactions and it's no different for me. Thanks, I hate it. I'm sure the reactions would be worse if the sexes were reversed, but it's good to know that even pseudo "reverse netorare" where it's the guy getting "stolen" generates this much outrage from readers. It's not like people are simply celebrating that the male lead has 2-3 girls lusting over him.

I guess being late to the shitstorm saved me from the infuriating reveal, but even then I already had a sinking feeling it was gonna be Aya, especially when she was nowhere to be found last chapter.

The fluff is dead. Where do we go from here now that the magic smoke of drama is out? Maybe I'll stick around for a while.

Rereading this again, I think this two really are still hung-up on each other, to Hikari's dismay... And imagine if the final nail in the coffin was that Yami wasn't exaggerating when she mentioned that Yuu had to go and look for her after going out of her way to hide from him

I don't know what is worse, that I could tell it would happen since the moment Aya appeared in the early chapters.. or that I am happy it did, I love this kind of over dramatic and twisty story.

I have so many questions...

First of all, how could Hikari, who’s been Ta-kun’s childhood friend and neighbor, not know that Aya-chan is his ex-girlfriend? It seems Ta-kun never mentioned it—why?

Second, how is Aya-chan 18 years old and still in the same class as Hikari?

Third, Aya-chan, are you really sure that Hikari is your best friend? You knew about her feelings for Ta-kun and that you had a past with him, yet you didn’t tell her. Why did you kiss him despite knowing about Hikari’s plans? I’m struggling to see how their friendship can survive this.

Finally, Mr. Author, why introduce NTR into a story that’s been fluffy and wholesome? And don’t try to tell me it’s not NTR.

Thanks for the chapter!
For the second question, they probably aren't in the same class considering Ta-kun called him senpai
