Ugh, it just kills me. She's now a commoner. She she attempted murder on a territorial lord. That's prison or execution.

Even if she were to confess and blame that guy, it's not like her words carry weight since she's a fallen noble.

Maybe but as a noble she’s got probably got magic and that’s definitely gonna help out the mc and her husband s territory

plus, now they’ve got someone else with an axe to grind against the dude who’s definitely a demon in disguise. That could be fun.

While I'm not particularly upset with the development, it does feel a bit... not quite rushed, but just lacking in payoff. This was teased since chapter 13, and then the attack happens at the end of the previous chap, and now it's already mostly resolved. Just falls a bit flat.

Well, keep in mind that MC + Nazelbert have the backing of the 2nd prince, who's been shown to be the competent one. They can probably appeal to him, and get an execution sentence reduced to an exile to their territory (considering that Nazelbert was already exiled from the capital), so she'll be relatively free within the confines of the story. Considering she's the finacee of their guard, I don't think they're just gonna let her be killed off.

I doubt Robin is a demon, tbh. If you remember back to the first chap, this series is basically a genderswapped villainess story from a different perspective, with Robin being the saintess-swap ("user of sacred magic") and Nazelbert being the villain/ess bullying him, and the FMC taking the position of the guy who usually comes in to sweep the villainess off her feet. If there's any twist WRT Robin in the future, I'd buy more that he's secretly an isekai'd person mucking with everything to get the harem route, since this matches so closely to otome game villainess plots in other manga. And if that's the case, he could just have typical "evil heroine charm power" that usually shows up in those stories too, without having to be a demon.

She's more valuable alive, and the people of the land absolutely don't give a damn about following the law. They'd all be down with covering up the whole incident, and buying the loyalty of the knight who they know is a cool dude.

One can write a fantasy story without making it isekai as well!

....I also wanted to make a DD-WRT joke but I couldn't figure out exactly how to make that work.

Uh no not really.

In universe people don't know this yet but MC have second prince and people who on second prince side back up.

In term of politics power, she and her husband have as much as the princess (does she even have someone undergrounds back up like second prince?).

They can use that as advantage, hack they even can use Guard Wife word as first gunshots to investigate princess and her husband openly.

Honestly confused why everyone just assumes they will need to get a stay of execution from the second prince, or that he would have any sway in the matter. Nazelbert is the Landed Lord, full stop. It would be his duty to preside over any criminal hearings or sign off on the decision of his appointed representatives judgement.

The victim might try appealing to a higher court, but would require the victim to plea their case befor the next higher noble. Unless they chose to interfere, Lord Nazelbert would have full rights to sentence the criminal as he sees fit. And as the sole victim, few would argue with his verdict.

If im not mistaken in the wn...

she still got punished for attempted murder, but then the punishment is quite light, like house arrest or something, and her fiancee can still visit her to help her recover

While this image is a meme, the truth is people these days don't give potatoes enough credit, there's a reason why when a disease hit the potato farms in ireland alot of people died, it's one of the most rugged crops humans can grow and can be grown in almost every climate, meaning alot of starvation has been prevented by the humble potato.

I also wish there were more fantasy series that were divorced from isekai, but honestly when this one already sits on so much of the framework of what makes up the "otome game villainess isekai" plot, I wouldn't be bummed to see isekai actually show up. Though who knows, Robin could also just be charming people naturally through non-isekai saint power, too.

But kinda like shonen fantasy, if some guy is given a cheat skill at a coming-of-age ceremony, then becomes an adventurer at a guild with ranks G through S to go dive into dungeons where bosses are in rooms on specific levels, I feel like I'd have roughly the same opinion on it whether or not the guy was isekai'd beforehand, lmao.
