I'm not familiar with vtuber and my experience are just through some clips... I thought people treated them like idol. Yet everyone seems very chill about all this...?
It's depends. Sometimes people do treat them like an idol, but mostly depend on what chara they were playing.
So it's not a rare sight to see listener-san bullying the liver for mistake they made.

That's one of the last things I want to hear from her sis. :wooow:
I ship Anija × Paisen. (I didn't expect Anija to not only be good at games, but at rizzing as well.)

Imouto is being jelly because she's being left out.

Some vtubers lean hard on the idol aspect and won't even interact with guys on stream (unless it's like an interview or someone from staff). Others don't care about that and will interact with men constantly.

That said, overly attached fans exist everywhere and live "flirting" like this would definitely cause some meltdowns.

massive idol culture in japan, but it does still seem to depend on the individual and the situation. similar issues only really crop up in the western sphere when the vtuber is basically selling a "boyfriend/girlfriend experience" persona.

I'm thinking the lack of reaction stems a lot from the viewers experience of seeing anija and lil sis interacting and how he generally doesnt really involve himself with the whole vtuber scene thing. he knows the lil sis stood her up for 24hr and its almost like he is in "apologetic parent of misbehaving child" mode aha

To add up, I think part of it is that the agency is pretty loose and apparently unorthodox, so perhaps male collabs are frequent enough that it's fanbase is one that's alright with it.

you also have vedal, who has shippers in every direction
Vedal is an occidental VTuber, it's not the same situation.
