Thanks for the translation (I actually thought the divorce news, while sudden, made for an interesting development when you consider what it'll mean for the two's sibling relationship going forward. Only for it to be immediately hamstrung by the typical "By the way you two aren't blood-related." We could have had something good going on. Yet here we are falling back on something like this 😑).

If I recall the author did actually want to go full Kirino route but was pressured by publishers not to hence the pretty weird anime ending. The LN after story actually implied it clearly that they're still together afterwards, though didn't explicitly say it. It's likely the reason eromanga sensei was written with NBR from the start after that.

Though I'm not sure if publishers nowadays care about that and authors just copout still as a safety precaution since stuff like Ani to Imouto no Shitai Shitai Shitai Koto exists.

I believe portraying incest in a certain way, like glorifying it, makes it automatically adult content/only adult content can do it because of Japanese law.

My my. Each chapter of this manga really feels like I'm reading different mangas. One chapter feels like Rivnes, another feels like Eromanga sensei, and this now feels like the my sister is my fiancé one.

Though this development is a bit roughly executed, my distaste for siblingcest and step incest apparently doesn't apply to NBR/ foster siblings.
I also didn't like the other girl as a heroine nor was a big fan of the idea of the sister ending up with a close male friend of his, so I guess it worked out?

At this point to be honest I don't know why I'm reading this.
