I don't know guys, living for 5000 years sounds pretty terrifying to me XD I'm also guessing she'll try going for a compromise

Everyone who thinks 5000 years is a great deal, needs to think a bit deeper. I'm not saying it's a bad idea. Just that it's not so obvious choice unlike how some are responding here. Our brains may just really not be able to handle that much existence.
Maybe the brain will just react the same way a 20 year old thinks about life as a 3 year old. Maybe it just mean a 3000 year old person will just feel the same only it's about 400 years. And with that great perspective and wisdom.
Or just break down from the massive amount of life lived but lived so long that nothing is new anymore.
We just don't know. But I think reasonable ground for any normal person to be worried about the wisdom in taking the offer.

Hmm... I still don't understand how is Gaia not full of crap. The whole reason to have a demon lord is already unstable, but let's say it's okay, and simply a rule of this world that cannot be changed. Okay. The demon lord not knowing who the fated person is? Pass. I don't really understand why since the demon lord is the most unfair existence in the world, like being full cursed and do everything to have everyone to live peacefully.
But why not give at the very least a hint to the other worlders that hey need to find the demon lord? That's not even fair, that's full scumbag decision right there! If you don't know you're supposed to meet him, most people won't go meet him! Most people won't even know that they need to! I could understand why let the demon lord in the dark considering the matter, because the summoned one should have the choice to do what he wants and what he choses, but you're not even let him chose, you prevent the summoned one from even knowing its options! You just dump someone in the world, with usually less than a year of deadlines before the demon lord's madness!
And why drop them randomly like that too? Why not deposit them at least a bit closer to demonic territory so that they at least have a chance of learning about demons, of getting possible hints? Because the only reason Suzumi got hints is because she absolutely wanted to go back, but most people wouldn't give a damn if they were dumped overpowered in a world of magic...
And what was that story about getting an other worlder killed because the demon lord was near madness, so everyone was hurrying to help...? That doesn't even try to make sense.
Anyways, if I were her, I would definitely bargain to get something like 5-6 digits of maximum mana, have the right to use space magic, even ask for time magic too because why not, go live a happy life as purple soul's bride for some 7000 years, and then go back to our world with intact memories, mana and spells, and live another happy life of adventuring and whatnot. I really don't see the difficult choice here, but I suppose it depends on the people? ^^

Yeah, living for 5000 years would probably drive a normal human mind crazy. I can't imagine going back to her old life on Earth after experiencing that. This is a pretty tough call, with no truly perfect answers.

All this exposition feels kind of like a red herring though, I haven't seen a single explanation to any of her issues that she brought up. Why doesn't Gaia just explain why they're summoned instead of dumping them in a forest with no explanation? (There are definitely more questions, but that's one obvious thing that popped into my head)

Man, I was really hoping Gaia would be someone who's mostly not in control either and would thus make me sympathize with him because he is just trying to hold the world together as best as he can, but he comes across as someone who doesn't really give a damn and just does whatever.
But if she does in fact have to pick from these options, I guess living out her lifespan here, then upon death being sent back as a youngin with her memories wiped might be a choice. (I mean I'm a xianxia fan so I'm not all that opposed to immortality as long as it isn't basically the 'eternal loneliness + suffering' that some people portray it as)

@Gurgling in this case I really pity you for not having people you care about and who are caring about you, I for myself am an introverted one with not much of social live but I surely would miss my parents and brothers and around a dozen other people too much to say I don't care if I don't see them ever again or how sad they would be if I just disappear
and I am fricking love this isekai story for making her that normal in my eyes, struggling with her new life, wanting to go back, enjoying simple things, being terrified to the point of trauma from her abduction, still fighting, trying to sort out when reality like having to kill to live clashes with her innocent mind of a person living in peace until now, making mistakes or rushed decisions but being able to learn from them - yeah I truly like her

Hah. Gaia totally sent Noel to Reene in the beginning with the exact purpose of having this happen. She won't leave immediately as it would doom the winged dog. Of course Reene could have failed other steps, making everything fail, but Noel was there, as a sleeper, in case she actually succeeds. Smart, as a god should be.
