I'm still on the fence but I think it is far more likely it was a miscarriage than her actually giving birth to a child who either didn't survive, was stillborn, or was killed.

Eh, if it were an early miscarriage, there wouldn't much of a body to cut up or bury. Stillbirth or death soon after birth is very plausible due to the age of the girl though.

Considering it could have been between 20-40 weeks (what is considered to be late-term), the fetus would have a form, even if small. Actually, within that time, you can have premature births that can survive so there is that as well
