What? No, you're not makine sense in several ways at once. Arranged marriages were historically common in East Asia, but in modern times they are quite rare not only in Japan, but in China and South Korea as well. In any case, the prevalence of arranged marriage isn't really relevant to whether it makes sense for these two to decide to get married within a matter of weeks of meeting. There's not even any reason I can see to rush, they're just being kinda silly.
