stuff like this just make me feel wrong inside ya know it's just....."cringe" best way I can describe it honestly just hard to read makes it hard to make it through
Aaaahhh I missed reading this manga. I forgot how the story goes though..... I might re-read this again eventhough I'm not the type of person who really re-read. xD
To put it simply, in my opinion, this manga is about how people with multiple personality disorder exist. so fitting to its psychological tag. Clever story telling i would say. Exceptional work as always Oshimi Shuzo sensei!
I remembered reading this. @Bee-Haw The yuri is more or less true.
There is a romance between Mari and another girl but it ends on gal pal vide in my point of view. But there is some chapters and the whole manga is not yuri friendly. In one chapter Mari gives a handjob to someone or it was watching him masturbate more than one time. It also have a rapey vibes. I know it's the plot of this manga, having a guy's mind in a pretty girl body. He/We discovers all the difficulty she goes through her every day. The relationship she have with everyone, the discovery of her sexuality, her body, adolescence. But we see too munch the guy's face and mostly on the time when Mari touch herself. It's like some hentai when they imagine having a d*ck in there. And the way how they explain her homosexuality, having a guy mind of course "he" will end up loving a girl.
But, warning, we discover that Mari have create the guy mind to protect herself psychologically. When the true Mari take control of course she is no longer gay...
Putting that aside it's a good reading, heavy at some times but good.
Thanks for the spoilers. The series seems interesting but there are elements that you mentioned that I find quite off-putting, so I'd be skipping this.
For once I actually found myself enjoying Oshimi's work without any strings attached - if this is his true potential then I guess there's still hope yet for Welcome Home Alice...heck, even Trail of Blood may have a worthwhile twist or two left up its sleeve
it's rare to se a "bodyswap" story with such a realistic explanation to all of it. my favorite thing about the twist isn't just that it's unique, but they really clue you in even from the beginning. you think there's no way that could be it, it's almost like a red herring to a red herring. it's a mystery story above everything else.
probably my least favorite thing is the last chapter and how they resolved Mari and Yori's relationship? i mean, the "Komori" inside Mari WAS her. it was always her. Mari and Yori DID fall in love with each other, literally. it's not that Yori fell in love with "Komori" and not Mari, because "Komori" really was Mari. when Mari realized that at the end, the personalities shouldn't have gone away, they should have merged, because she has the memories of all of them now. (memories ARE your personality, they're the same thing) they literally show all of them holding hands walking into the light! it's very weird to frame it as "Komori" is now gone, Mari is back to her "original" self, which means Yori and Mari aren't into each other anymore? that's not how any of this works. idk, maybe i'm just really mad i didn't get my yuri ending, lol. the ending itself was resolved nicely, that just frustrates me a little
I enjoy Oshimi’s other work and also this one, albeit less. I feel like some parts of the story just didn’t really hit as it should’ve and while I did enjoy Mari’s character I felt that something was missing. Overall a nice read but imo one of Oshimi’s weaker stories... 7.5/10
