I still have a bone in my throat that Microsoft Edge is, IRL, a Chromium based browser, but still, you go girl!

Old Edge had its charms though it was an interesting alternative to chrome and it could read Epubs.

Internet Explorer's only purpose was to download Chrome or Firefox, Microsoft kept trying to push it and eventually they came up with something new. Yet gave it an icon too similar to explorer. Then they just gave up on Edge despite its many improvements and features.

@quirriff Real world, I am more of a Firefox fanboy, even though the current crew in charge of Mozilla seems to be getting a bit over-woke. Oh well, there is a lot of that going around at the moment. 😑

Ngl i actually keep edge pinned because it allows for writing on pdfs and is lighter weight. Bing also allows ypu to do somecalculus graphing calculations with just a search, which is neat.

Now on the other hand, duckduckgo on chrome is my main heavy hitter but still, they each have their own pros and cons.

Mozilla has turned Firefox into a pile of crap since v79 went live and the ESR went to Daylight. I get that it's hard to develop for, but they reduced it into broken rubble that's missing half its useful features. Thank goodness that we can still run older versions if so desired.

@alee76 while it has its issues, its a lot better now then before. And yes, some of the useful stuff is gone but there are working solutions and new features and multiprocess support helps a lot with crashes.

My bigger issue is with firefox mobile. A lot of extensions and features are still gone

@eng1 I keep Firefox on my PC updated, but I froze my Android updates at 68.11.0 because Mozilla screwed the pooch on the most recent mobile redesign. I'm going to have to bite the bullet at some point, due to security, but I might have to say bye-bye to Firefox on my phone. 😑

My main browser is Seamonkey, formerly known as Mozilla.

I've hated Firefox since it was known as Firebird. Every change just seems to make it worse, and I remain sad that Team Firefox managed to take over the Mozilla Foundation and kill the program it was named for.


My secondary browser is Edge, and I'm still sad MS bowed out of the fight in favor of shipping a Chrome repaint.

@r-mod Oh, I don't know the finer details, because digging too far into it would make my brain swell in a painful way, but, in a nutshell, the current Mozilla Chairwoman released a statement last month calling for "more than deplatforming" of whoever on the interwebs she doesn't agree with. As if not letting everyone have a turn to speak, and telling people to just sit down and shut the f*ck up, has worked so well already, we clearly need more of it, and then some. 🙄

BTW, what bit of BBCode gets you those cool, clickable bubbles around a user name? That looks a lot sharper than just using a plain old url link!

I have try Edge during at least 6 months, and now I got back to Chrome. Edge was fine at the start and cost less ram, but now Edge is slow and Chrome is still faster. Don't know why, didn't event try to search why. Now Chrome is back my main browser. I know they are suppose to be the same, but Microsoft did something in one update and Edge is not good!
