There were a couple guys in my hometown who took 6 years to "graduate" from high school.
This is because they were dumb. Really, really slow learners; unable to learn maths and fractions.
Dumb.

I feel confident that they would be unable to make these mistakes, even though they couldn't even do the hero job as described.

This is so forced that I want to punch the mangaka until they give me back all the precious time I took to read 2.1 chapters.
